What is the safest way to cleanse your colon? Fasting?

Is fasting with water the best way to cleanse your body? I want to start a healthy lifestyle, and by doing that, want to cleanse my body FIRST. Do you have any methods or advice for starting me on the right track. I do plan to exercise and eat healthy as well.

    I dont recommend fasting, although that could be a yearly thing you could do to cleanse the body, but also the mind and soul. The best food to eat in order to cleanse your colon is food with cellulose in it. cellulose can be found in food like celery. it is the long strands of celery that you can never chew down. the cellulose in the celery also doesnt get broken down in your digestion process, so when its passing your colon, it takes stuff you want to cleanse out, hence, cleansing your colon….. GOOD LUCK!!!!

    First - talk to your doctor about it, and ask if it’s safe for you to do. Then start with 24 hours once a week. You can start at the morning or evening, whatever you prefer. For example, you stop eating at 6 p.m. today - will start eating 6 p.m. the next day. Or you stopped eating 8 a.m., started again 8 a.m. the next day.
    During the way, eat nothing, but have a lot of water handy. Drink at least 1.5 liters. It has to be pure water, without any additives. You may add a couple of drops of lemon juice (from a real lemon) once or twice.
    After your fast is ended, break it with a carrot and cabbage salad (raw). It will clean everything out, like a broom. An our later eat a small sized meal of vegetables.
    Do it once a week for a couple of months, then move from 24 to 48 hours.

    I’ve tried fasting in the past and the whole “cleansing your body” thing. If you are eating healthy, nutritious food, your body will cleanse itself. The only reason most people talk about the 2 day fast before you start a weight loss plan or eating healthy is because most people will lose 2-7 pounds of water weight. It’s just to move the number on the scale, and not really healthy. I know tons of people who will disagree with this, especially those who follow an Ayurvedic diet, but that’s how I feel.

    If you eat really good food - oatmeal, lots of dark green veggies, and other good food, your body will take care of itself. Lots of fiber helps move things out. Try the Eating Clean Diet by Tosca Reno.
