Jenny Craig
Atkins works well at losing weight in the first instance; it is lousy at letting you keep it off. Craig probably makes more sense.

Atkins isn’t healthy at all. Most who go on Atkins do it for a few weeks or months before quitting. Jenny Craig is more expensive, but seems to work for more people. A diet of excercise and healthy food would do as well…
I dont know how overweight you are but if you are doing Atkins for a few weeks…say 24 days….if you are doing it right…you should have lost 12 pounds or so… You are not allowed to eat ANY starch, sugar…just meat and salad and veggies…and a lot of water… that means NO starch or sugar…read the labels…no catsup, no white veggies, no corn, no liquor, no bread….if you REALLY want to lose weight with it…get a calorie book…and stop at 1500 calories a day. That is a lot of veggies…. meat?…best with chicken and pork….
I’ve struggled with my weight my whole life, and though I’ve never tried JC, I had good success on the Atkins diet, dropping 30 pounds in about a month and a half. The problem is that, like any diet, it’s not something you can just halfway. You HAVE to cut your carb intake down to nothing for the first couple weeks and heavily restrict it afterward. Personally, I had the best success just by cutting out on processed foods and switching to natural stuff. Fruit and nuts instead of candy and chips. If your thing is soda and energy drinks, try buying individual packs of water flavoring. A 10 pack will fill 10 20oz water bottles with a ton of zero calorie flavor for about 3$. You can always find an alternative to processed and preserved food if your willing to put a little effort into it.
I would say the Oprah diet (since the weight loss is permanent).

It would be best for you to start your diet with a complete medical exam. Seriously. You should know 3 things. Where you are right now, what you can expect to have happen to you, and where your going. I would almost say that a vegetarian diet would work for you. My experience with weight loss is a little diet plan I call the RUDE diet. Put whatever you want on your dinner plate. One helping, that’s it. And when you finished eating, Leave the table even if everyone else is still munching. How Rude! Of course my other diet plan is to stop eating for several days. Just water. Not really effective, or healthy.
I’ve been on the low carb diet for 4 days and have lost 7 pounds, and have also been walking on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes a day. I’m not over weight I just want to lose a few pounds.
