Is the green tea diet healthy and effective?

So i’m trying to try out the green tea diet.
I’m currently 5`2 and weigh 115. i’m 18.
my goal is to reach 105 which is 10 pounds.

some people told me that 3 days of the green tea diet made them lose about 5 pounds.

I’m planning to do the green tea for about a week or maybe just 5 days.
do i only drink green tea? can i eat other non-fatty foods as well?
how effective is it?

    It is not healthy and it is not effective, and if you start, expect to gain 150% of the weight back as soon as you stop.

    I drink gallons of green tea and it has not helped me lose weight at all. I eat a very healthy diet; no cheese or any other dairy except 1% plain kefir, no refined sugars or flours, no rice, etc., lots of greens. In fact, I’ve read that caffeine can stimulate your pancreas to secrete insulin, which has a fat preserving effect in the body. Insulin actually slows down fat metabolism. I believe it!

    Well, yes it is effective but make sure you also lower you calore intake. If you eat less than what your body burns you will loose weight fatser. What green tea does is burn more calories for you. Its a gerat method only thing about it, is that people will drink too much and will get bloated and their stomach will get bigger and heavier. Then a few days later the waterin your system will be gona and you will weigh less howver, you will look exactly the same if you sdaty on this diet for nearly 3 weeks and eat healthy and a little you will lose muscle and fat. To prevent loosing muscle you need to lift weights but light. Good luck on your diet !!!

    This is bad advice Green tea has caffeine in it so you will have periods of high energy and crashing if you only stick to this ridiculous attempt to lose weight your best bet is to eat breakfast like oats and fruit and lunch eggs or salad and dinner eat dinner at an earlier time like 5:30

    I drink a few cups of green tea every day, but i use it mostly to curb hunger when its not time to eat and for after 8pm when i dont let myself eat anymore. this is proving to be effective for me, but not just by itself

    oh, and the green tea i drink is natually decaffienated…

    Last year I started drinking about two mugs full of green tea a day, and although I’m not actually sure if it was that (but since I wasn’t on a diet or anything I guess it was) I lost alot of weight! I had weighed about 110, and I went down to about 95-98. That was kinda weird for me, but I did work out almost everyday that could have helped. As for gaining weight when you stop drinking it, that may also be true. I stopped drinking green tea everyday because I didn’t want to lose anymore weight, but it took about a year or so to gain it all back.
