Green tea if you drink it is very low in anti oxidents. I think people use whatever they can to fool the consumer into believing something is very benificial to get it to sell. Don’t believe just because something is suposedly a healthy choice it is better as quite often what makes something low fat is worse then the sugar or fat removed. Buy green tea pills which are equivelent to 10-12 glasses of drinking tea. A bottle of 120 is only $10. Just take one with you breakfast or lunch as on an empty stomach or in the evening may keep you awake. Vitamins are a business too and more isn’t always better. Good luck!

I think it still the same. I started drinking tea occasionally since years ago. I prefer from the original tea leaves (the package one or the powder green tea), not the canned instant drinks or bottled ones. It contains other preservatives to make it tastes nicer.. or last longer. And unnecessary sugar added is not good for our health.

It is well known that Green Tea is high in antioxidants as compared to Black Tea. One has to get a bit used to the taste. It is lighter on the stomach. To make it tasty one may add a few drops of lemon juice, no need to add sugar or milk. It also does not leave an unpleasant after taste. One can drink as many cups as one feels like without feeling heavy in the stomach. There are many qualities of Green Tea available but you will have to scout for it. I strongly feel it is better to use leaves rather than tea bags as you get a better taste. I also feel it’s better to avoid taking Green Tea pills - natural (leaves) are better.

According to US Department of Agriculture, hot green tea is the healthiest:

100 millimetres of brewed green tea contains 127 milligrams of catechins.

Decaffeinated brewed green tea contains only 56 milligrams, less than half of the catechins found in an original brew.

Flavored brewed green tea has 43 milligrams.

Disappointingly, instant green tea has only 12 milligrams.

Chances are your iced and diet green tea will fall into the 12 milligrams category.
