abbylane asked:

I am considering Jenny Craig and I have diabetes type 2. I do not want all the carbs or desserts that they offer. I have a bad back and cannot exercise much.

Has Jenny Craig worked for any of you and how much could I expect to lose in one week. I would not be happy losing two pounds a week………. I am use to Atkins, but cannot take it anymore.

unless you exercise, you will only lose a certain amount of weight…then you will stop losing, but you have to stay on the diet or you will gain back. Almost all diets or pills will say “in combination with a healthy lifestyle including exercise” or something like that.

Well, I lost a lot of weight on it back years ago, but the problem comes when you have to go off it and eat on your own. That was the hard part for me.

Also, even a little walking is good enough for exercise. Don’t think like you have to go pump iron at the gym or go through through those exercise classes with the Energizer bunny instructor. You’ll lose more in the first few weeks, but like all other diets, the average will be two pounds a week once your body is used to the food regimen.

it may work for a little while

Without exercise its hard to lose more than a couple pounds a week without pretty much starving yourself. If you cut out 500 calories a day generally you will lose 1-2 pounds a week. Any weight loss should be greeted with a smile, because it is progress. Eventually you can mentally “pysch” your self out of wanting to eat things that are not great for you.

No diet will work without some working out. Your back probably hurts because of your weight. Why not look into some easy core exercises to strengthen your back? You could always walk you only really need to get your heart rate going for 30 minutes to burn calories. I have included some links that may help you. Good luck.
