It depends, I have found one type of green tea that is actually VERY GOOD
Green Tea 300, its just starting to get popular, it started in Utah, and is starting to come over to major cities like Denver.
WITHOUT diet and esercise, but maintaining a lifestyle that your not a couch potatoe (i.e. working, moving around the house, etc) you can lose up to 10 lbs on the stuff, if you drink it how your supposed too.
I misplaced the website, so you can google it to find more info, there are alot of look alikes, but it is a green box, and about 6 or 7 flavors.
Other green teas you should be careful of, lots of them have ingredients like aspartane, and high fructose corn sryup, nd both are very bad for you. I looked up aspartane on various sites, this is one i liked most http://www.dorway.com/badnews.html and it says alot about what it is, and just by reading that, and other research about the background and how it was FDA approved, I try to not use and eat/drink anything with that ingredient in there.
No. You woould need to drink at least 12 cups of green tea a day to have ANY positive benefits from tea. Even if you did drink this much tea, it would have very minimal benefits. Sorry :[
But it tastes really good, is better for you than soda and it has some antioxidants.
I’m interested in seeing what ppl say - my in-laws are Moroccan and drink a ton of green tea but they put so much sugar in it I doubt it can do any good. lol
Green tea is full of antioxidants. But aspartame in diet drinks is a poison so I would check the label to see if it contains aspartame as most diet drinks do. Green tea is full of antioxidants but this antioxidant effect would be cancelled out by aspartame. Better to drink plain green tea or tea with just a small amount of sugar. At least you know of the potential harms of sugar, but for aspartame you have to dig a little deep into the science that they (Monsanto) would obviously prefer you don’t know.
Green tea if it does speed up metabolism, does so because of its caffeine content. But you may have to drink more than one tea to see any effect and that might affect your sleeping unless you were to drink the tea early in the day. There are green tea tabs for that, which I think you shouldn’t take after 4pm because of the possible disruption to sleep. Plus if you are sensitive to caffeine, are on medication or have a health condition you should talk to a doctor or pharmacist before taking should tabs or drinking any significant amount of green tea.
Sea kelp, which is rich in iodine, is a better way to boost metabolism as long as you are NOT under medical supervision or medication for any thyroid disorder. You cannot take sea kelp if you are on thyroxine or other thyroid medication.
